Why we publish the numbers
It started with Mochi. She is twelve pounds of poodle and bichon, she will eat absolutely anything, and then she was diagnosed with pancreatitis and we were told to cut the fat. Which meant we needed to know how much fat was in her bowl, and nobody would tell us. On a pet food label the fat figure is a legal minimum, not an amount, and the ingredients are ranked by weight before cooking. So we started writing the real numbers down ourselves.
Percentages, not adjectives
Every recipe shows what proportion each ingredient makes up. No "rich in" or "packed with". If it's 6%, the bag says 6%.
One mill, one province
Everything is milled in small batches on the Grand River, just outside Paris, Ontario. Each bag carries the batch number and the week it was made.
The first bag is on us if they hate it
Dogs and cats are opinionated. Send back what's left of the first bag and we refund it, no photographs of a disappointed spaniel required.
